Why live streams are the podcasts of the future
As our world becomes increasingly connected and the fidelity and speed of internet connections increase globally (particularly with the rollout of 5G) the demand for video content online is only set to increase. People demand content that they know will educate and entertain them. While podcasts have secured a sizeable niche in the online world by providing the public with easily digestible content, the live video space is still far from being saturated. The appeal of live video is obvious – there is an nostalgic joy in running to your seat so you dont't miss the start of your favourite show. Memories like these are still fresh in the minds of those who now may not even own a televsion any more but yearn for the immediacy, regularity and authenticity of live video programming.
However, with increasing bandwidths, a return to the pre-internet era of regular programming may be on the cards as more and more content creators and businesses turn to live streaming and studio production to fill the void left by the shrinking television industry. As more and more competitors join this space, the content produced through livestreams is set to increase in its professionalism and entertainment appeal. The need for studio spaces, high quality cameras and audio equipment, as well as the skills needed to operate this hardware is set to become paramount in the coming decade. At Found At Sea, we’re equipped to produce outstanding studio-based video content across all channels and platforms.
Our broadcast studio space
Constructed in late 2020, the studio at 2 Barack Street, Sydney features the latest technology for premium live video production. A fully integrated NDI (Network Device Interface) system that combines the input of three 4K robotic cameras with high quality SHURE micrphone recordings in a studio lit by fully configurable LED lights provides us with the industry-leading technical capacity to produce live video content with ease and exactly to your specifications. As the contracted operators of this facility for video production, we can dry hire this broadcast studio and coordinate video production to suit your needs.
The broadcast studio space is network based. The NDI system, developed by NewTek, is a software solution that allows HD and 4K video to be transmitted across a local computer network. This not only allows the cameras to be reached from anywhere on the network but also allows camera settings to be modified remotely. This streamlines the video production process and allows us to set up the studio for recording quickly and efficiently. The studio also features a confidence monitor and in ear microphones, allowing our crew to speak with guests remotely so we can coordinate production without anyone needing to leave their seats.
